In early May, John's friend and supporters gathered for an evening of art, poetry and music at Lincoln Square's Resistor space. The event raised funds to offset costs associated with publishing his first book of poetry, Ordinary Light. John and other local actors read poems, and John and his brother took the stage to perform some of his songs. The evening also featured the work of other brilliant emerging artists, such as local painter Shala Dryden and a wonderful jazz trio led by Ariel Glassman.
